Raphael Onyango

I am a Director within the Immigration, Crime and Family Department at Titan Solicitors, based in the firm’s South East London office. I hold an ICA Diploma focused in Governance, Risk and Compliance from the International Compliance Association. I lead a team that represents privately funded clients, including foreign nationals, in all courts across the full spectrum of immigration, human rights, nationality law and judicial review.

My areas of expertise include; representing foreign nationals who are seeking international protection, complex asylum (LGBT and political) applications and appeals on behalf refugees from Uganda, Bangladesh, Kenya, Rwanda and Nigeria. I have extensive experience of challenging decisions by judicial review; I have successfully appealed against the refusal of a family reunion for the child of a refugee who was over 18 at the time of the application. I also have secured leave to remain for an applicant as an adult dependant relative (exceptional case).

As a crime solicitor, I have defended clients in a range of cases including high profile cases that attracted world-wide media attention. In a landmark trial at the Old Bailey I represented a client charged under the Female Genital Mutilation Act. I have successfully defended a client charged with drugs offences whilst in an immigration detention centre and defended a client acquitted of kidnapping and false imprisonment charges.

I also advise on a broad range of family and childcare matters including: Care proceedings; Private law children disputes and Domestic violence matters. As an accredited Police station representative, I am able to represent clients at police stations across the UK. I posses a high level of quality in my work and have an excellent work ethic. I always work tirelessly to produce results for my clients, whilst producing high quality client care.
